When in Rome presents Gareth Budge’s photography series capturing the ever changing form of urban wildposting that produces untraceable layers and chance formations.
Images and advertising saturate our urban environments. Budge is interested in how patterns and layers begin to emerge from the practice of wildposting, which sees the mass installation of posters to draw people’s attention. Both natural and social forces influence the layering and decay of old posters, which results in new forms.
