Whether you’re embarking on an exciting family history project, preserving family slides, or just beginning your genealogical journey, our Local Studies Room Induction is here to provide you with essential tools and knowledge. 

Join us at the Harry Bailey Memorial Library’s Local Studies Room for an introduction to the resources and facilities available. Leave with the confidence to use our spaces and resources for your family research. 

Induction Details: 

  • Memory Station Demonstration: Discover the Memory Station, a high-quality scanner for photo film negatives and slides. Get hands-on experience in digitising your precious memories. 
  • Microfilm Reader Introduction: Discover the microfilm reader and see examples of how it can be used for history research. 
  • Comprehensive Resource Overview: Learn about the wide range of resources available for family history research and how to access them effectively.
  • Coffs Collections Overview: Explore the Coffs Collections, find out what is available online, and learn how to access these resources from the comfort of your home. 

After the induction, you’ll know whom to contact for assistance and will be familiar with the tools available for digitising and preserving records.  

Please note: Completing this induction is required to make bookings in the Memory Room.
